CSI BEC student Chapter

The BEC Hyderabad Student Chapter of the CSI was established in 2013 to address the needs of the BEC Hyderabad computing community. The goal of the chapter is to create interest among the students for computer science apart from what they learn during the coursework. The chapter organizes talks and workshops on different subjects by speakers who are well known in their area. These talks give students opportunities to learn about advanced research subjects. Apart from these, some non-technical activities are also organized.

Best Projects

1. Pharmacy Management System

The main aim of this Project is to ease the effort of pharmaceutical shop keepers to sell medicine. This is done by creating a web application called pharmacy management system which is nothing but a database with a simple graphical user interface making things much easier to handle. The database is responsible for storing not only the details of all the medicines in the inventory. But also the details of all the transactions that take place so as to generate invoices, all this is done in the efforts to create a secure, accurate and easy-to-use system for effective storage of information and transaction processing.

Pharmacy Management system (PAM) is a computer based management system whose heart is the database which is aided by the graphical user interface.PAM is a web application which can be accessed using any web browser. The primary functions of this system are inventory management and transaction processing. Some of the secondary functions of this system are generating reports of previous transactions, notifying the shop keeper about expired products, printing invoices, keeping track of suppliers, etc.

2. Hospital Managing Interface

Hospital managing interface is a web application which provides an easy to use web-based common interface for viewing, adding, modifying or detecting patient appointment records. the web application which also provides an easily handle the information and its services.

As technology advances we tend to switch of storing information in digitally instead of storing in a traditional manual manner (paper based /registers).it reduces the overhead on maintain those record. this web application increase overall processing speed as well as comfort and functionality.

The main function of the system is register and store patient details and doctor details and retrieves these details as and when required, and also to manipulate these details meaningfully system input contains patient details, while system output is to get these details on the screen. The hospital managing interface can be entered using a username and password. it is accessible either by an administrator or receptionist. only they can add data into the database. the data can be retrieved easily. the data are well protected for personal use and makes the data processing very fast

3. Performance Analysis of Supervised Machine Learning Algorithm

Prediction is widely researched area in data mining domain due to its applications. There are many traditional quantitative forecasting techniques, such as ARMA, exponential smoothing, etc. Which achieved higher success rate in the forecasting but it would be useful to study the performance of alternative models such as machine and make it intelligent so that the machine will be able to make predictions which may give more benefits. There are many supervised machine learning techniques are available so it is a difficult task to choose the best one. This paper gives performance measures of various supervised machine learning algorithms used for prediction. The goal is to find how different supervised machine learning algorithms gives performance when applied to different types of datasets.

Performance analysis of supervised machine learning algorithm is done in this paper, including Linear Regression, Decision Tree Regression, and K-Nearest Neighbour. These algorithms are applied to various data sets. Evaluation of generated models has been done by RMSE (Root Mean Square Error). Based on the RMSE value, the comparisons between the algorithms is made and best algorithm will be chosen.
